2002 Bid Books

Keep checking back as we add more of the 2002 Olympic Bid Books to our online collection.

Jaca 2002

The Bid Library is pleased to be able to post the second volume of the Jaca 2002 Candidature File,  At this point we are attempting to source Volume One and Three - however the second volume contains all the venue plans as well as Ceremony and Youth Camp information.  The document has been scanned and is in black and white.  Enjoy.

Jaca 2002 Volume Two

Ostersund 2002

The Bid Library is proud to add one of the most unlucky bidders of all time.  The Swedes have attempted to host the Olympics time after time but have been continually rebuffed by the IOC.  The bids have all been of a high standard and have all suggested a Winter Olympics in Sweden would bit an exceptional experience for the spectators, athletes and organisers.  Check out how Sweden would have presented the 2002 Games.

Quebec City 2002

After a month of hard work we are proud to release the Quebec City 2002 complete candidature file.  Scanned by Jeremie – this document retains both the English and French editions.  The Quebec City plan was an attempt to bring the Games back to a more human scale after the extravagant bids from Nagano and Salt Lake City for the 1998 Games.  The Quebec City bid featured an innovation in their plans to stage the Opening Ceremony away from the main venues in an open air public park - not unlike Albertville – but on a much grander scale.  Enjoy.
